Mary K Burke was born in Park, Co Derry but has lived in Glasgow since her teens. Her first album 'A Song In Her Heart' was released by www.greentrax.com in 2008 to local and international acclaim. She has presented her own radio show on Celtic Music Radio, Glasgow, for the last 8 years., Interviewed top names in the music scene as well as bringing to light many independent artists.
A crossover artist Mary K Burke has now released her most recent album 'Sweet Is The Melody' which very much shows her country side, featuring songs by writers from both sides of the Atlantic. Mary K's recent single, I'll Accept The Rose, is featured on this album, along with the self penned 'Ireland I Miss You', the heartfelt story of an Irish emigrant living abroad for so many years, and like the rest of our emigrants, missing and yearning for the country of their birth
.
Also featured is a duet with Joe Davitt Here today and Gone tomorrow feast your ears on this lovely arrangement which gives the song now a duet a new breath of life . .
It's Mary K's hope that this album might facilitate a return to the Emerald Isle on a permanent basis. Mary K is already looking forward to continuing her Irish adventure with her upcoming Album launch appearances at venues nationwide.
Mary K Burke is available for radio/tv and media interviews at any time!
